Welcome.

My name is Lee Martin.  I am a freelance graphic and website designer.  Freelance, what's that?  Well in the Middle Ages mercenary soldiers would help fight battles and receive pay directly from the government.  They were freelancers.  Simply put, a freelancer is a person who acts independently without being affiliated with or authorized by an organization.  In other words, I am a lone graphic and website designer that currently does not wish to be part of a company.  But I am more than happy to design for anyone.

Why should you choose a freelance designer over a corporate design company?  One of the main reasons why I started this website was in reaction to the amazing amount of low quality work out there.  The unfortunate reality is that, the client may not know the difference between a well-designed and functional site versus a poorly-designed website lacking in functionality.  Many corporate design companies do not make this clear to the client.  They depend on this cloud of confusion and lack of knowledge to get away with their mediocre websites.  I can recall looking at many sites and shouting, "They were paid for that?"

Then there are ethics.  I am currently in college pondering ways to pay tuition, books, room and board... you name it.  Why should I man the Flurry machine at the local McDonalds when I can easily design higher quality and more affordable websites than those created by many corporate design companies?

I hope you will help support good design (and my education) by hiring or at least consulting with me for your next design job.

Kind Regards,

Lee Martin
